I have never posted a recipe in my blog so far. Although I love cooking, I do not have the time with the job and the school and... life to do it. But this is a recipe that needs to be out there.
It's a traditional Greek recipe for a teaspoon sweet with a twist.
We have grown up here with fruits in a spoon sweets (that is the exact translation of these category of sweets in Greece). And because they were so common and you could find them everywhere - all grandmothers had at least 4 different homemade flavours of them in their kitchen - I snobbed them. But now that grandmothers are not around anymore and they are not so common anymore something happens everytime I find one.
They are simple to make (well most of them - because some fruits need special preparation to stay crunchy after their cooking in syrup), extra delicious and quite healthy - they only have sugar .
(*Yes,I wanna live in a world that sugar is healthy!)
Recently I have tasted in a restaurant a sweet based on this idea but not with a fruit but with carrots!!
And it was completely and uterly delicious! It blew my mind!
Combined with yogurt the result was almost divine - I love sweet and sour tastes.
Below you can find the recipe that I will absolutely try :: as soon as I find the time ://
Ingredients:
1kgr carrots washed,cleaned and shredded
1kgr white granulated sugar
1lt water
2 teaspoons vanilla powder
15 pieces of cloves
1 lemon (the juice of it)
Preparation:
1. In a large saucepan put water to cover half of the pan and as soon as the water starts boiling we add the shredded carrot inside. We leave it to cook for 12 minutes and then we drain the water.
2. We put in a different saucepan the 1lt of water, the sugar, vanilla, cloves and we constantly stiring it with a wooden spoon. After 25 minutes we also add the lemon juice and 10 minutes after that we add also the carrots. We leave it with all the ingredients to cook for about 10 minutes more and maybe a little bit longer. We observe the consistency of the syrup to understand when it will be ready.
3. To check if the sweet is ready we check the syrup. We remove the spoon that we are stirring the sweet with and we drop a small drop of syrup on a plate. The drop must stay round and firm. It must not loose its form. If the result is watery we continue the boiling of the ingredients for some minutes more and we repeat the check.
4. We store the sweet in airtght jars.
5. Once it is cool you can serve it on any amount of greek yogurt that you prefer.
This is what you can find - ready to go - in any traditional Greek culinary store.
If you ever come in Greece choose your favourite fruit and enjoy!
My favourites : bitter orange, quince, pumpkin - yeap all the strange ones / I needed google translate to find the name of the first two in English (wOw)!

Last year was all about the wedge sneakers (::still love you my gorgeous shoes!!).
But now I have found a new love.
Blue velvet Sneakers with golden details by Giuseppe Zanotti.
(This is what shoe-porn means!)
The price of them is extraordinary so I have found an alternative choice by H&M at almost 30€ :
Hope I will find them in a store.

I am searching for a new mobile phone since my current one (that I absolutely adore) is facing his final days/weeks (unfortunately - but it was with me for 3,5 years, survived a underwater challenge, a dog attack and more falls from an substancial height than I can count) so it was about time to say goodbye.
And while being in search for a proper heir to my love I was thinking about the phones that I owned since the beginning. And it was a challenge to remember them all from 2000 till this day.
I succeed in finding my list of them all and they do deserve a blog post since I loved them all and spent with them every day all day for the time that we were together.
Which one will/should be added to the pic?

Yesterday I saw the last episode of Pretty Little liars first half of season 4 - 4x12.
And after the first shock of the finale (spoiler alert:::) that EzrA is A,
this is my #PLLreaction tweet for the news!
Go Ateam! Go black hoodies!
(What if he is a creepy pedofile high school teacher that messes around with a number of his underaged students -Alison was 14 when he met her!!!- and pays people to videotape young girls in their rooms getting undressed - omg the case in this tv series is completely twisted and certainly in most of the world is a felony- yet everybody loves the Aria+Ezra romance).
Everything is excused because he is cute! (OMG!!)
Even though, can't wait to see the next two hour halloween episode on 22nd October.
But as much as I would want to have A revealed, I really believe that is gonna be a twist...
A lot of theories in the web around Aria. With a lot of solid clues!
And now Alison is back in the game for good!
So eager to see how it will continue!

Well, today was a strange day.
When I see people that I knew in the past, how they evolved -or not- in their life, it always makes me think of what I expected it from them and how it actually turned out.
And it also makes me think about how much I have changed from the time I knew them.
Today was one of those days. I randomly saw an old friend, we talked and I started thinking how different I am from that time. 5 years have passed and the girl I was back then is so distant to me now.
And it is so great that I saw how far I got.
1 - I am independent (girl power yeah!).
2- I am wiser (not wise - too far from that still)
3 - I learned from my mistakes (I still need to act on one more).
4 - I am self aware (unfortunately I know all my bad sides).
5 - I choose to do things that make me happy!
6 - I want my money where I can see it : : hanging in my closet - my choice!
7 - My job is not the best but I really like doing it!
And I am making one mid-year resolution:
I have more things to be gratefull about than to be sad !
Today I am happier!
